Eight guests got the chance to live with the team for 3 days, rubbing elbows with the athletes as well as the winner of the Ronde van Vlaanderen, Niki Terpstra.
It was a customized experience for the group, which got to pedal with the team in Antwerp on Saturday, during their final training before the Ronde. Then they continued riding for another hour, led by the young Belgian cycling star Laurens De Plus.
After spending an evening in the company of Eddy Merckx, the icing on the cake was Sunday’s race.
Breakfast was served on a boat that carried the guests along the Schelde River to the starting point.
After the start, VIP shuttles transported guests along the route and then to the splendid hospitality area overlooking everything from the top of Oude Kwaremont, one of the legendary walls in the Tour of Flanders. The 5-star treatment included food, drinks, live race coverage on the big screens and a front row seat on the route.
The grand finale featured Patrick Lefevere at the hospitality space, set up literally on the arrival line, with Niki Terpstra arriving solo to top off a day that was unforgettable for everyone.
